Welcome to the Online Campus
The YBNL College campus includes classes, community rooms, reference collections, events, faculty offices, and support spaces. You do not need to understand all of it before beginning.
Start by creating your account, completing Orientation, and learning how the left navigation menu works. You can then join the spaces that interest you and begin the free introductory class, Shift Your Inner Dialogue.
1. Create Your Account and Profile
When you first join, create your campus account and add the profile information you are comfortable sharing. A profile helps faculty and other members recognize you during conversations, classes, and live events.
You may add:
- A profile photograph
- A short biography
- An optional personal or professional link
- Your interests or other information you choose to share
You may also adjust your email, browser, and mobile notification settings. These can be changed later.
You do not need to share private information. Add only what feels appropriate.
2. Begin with Orientation
New members are automatically given access to Orientation in the Welcome Center. Orientation explains the main parts of the campus and teaches the basic navigation used throughout the College.
Open each Orientation section in order. The navigation lessons explain how to use:
- The Campus Feed
- Events
- Community spaces
- Semesters and classes
- The Ombudsman
- The Boardroom
- The Founder’s Office
Some lessons or class sections may remain locked until the preceding section has been viewed or marked complete. This allows the material to unfold in its intended order.
4. Explore and Join Campus Spaces
A space is a room or section devoted to a particular activity. Community rooms, classes, Library collections, faculty offices, and support areas are all spaces.
The Community section includes social rooms such as:
- The Quad — the gathering place for all members
- Lounge — arts, creativity, insights, and conversation
- Gains — stories and testimonials that encourage progress
- Memes — a lighter space for humor
- Dining Hall — food photographs, recipes, and kitchen creations
To join an available space:
- Open the appropriate campus category.
- Select the space that interests you.
- Choose the available Join or Access option.
- Confirm access when prompted.
- Look for the newly joined space in the left navigation menu.
The exact wording may vary. A free space may still ask you to choose Access or Confirm Access before it is added to your account.
5. Read and Create Posts
Most campus spaces have an Activity Feed where members can create posts, ask questions, comment, react, and participate in conversations.
The Quad is the general gathering place for all members. It is a useful place for campus-wide conversation and introductions.
To create a post:
- Open the space where your post belongs.
- Select the field labeled Share a post.
- Write your message or question.
- Add an image or attachment when appropriate.
- Review and publish the post.
Choose the most appropriate space before posting. General conversation belongs in Community. Academic questions usually belong in the related class or a facilitator’s office.
Posts from spaces available to you may also appear in the Campus Feed. The Campus Feed is a combined view; opening the original space shows only the activity associated with that room.
6. Find and Take Classes
YBNL training is organized into semesters. Expand a semester in the left navigation menu to see the classes currently available to you.
First Semester begins with Shift Your Inner Dialogue. The class is free for both Visitors and Full Members.
To begin a class:
- Expand the appropriate semester.
- Select the class.
- Choose an access or tuition option when required.
- Open the Welcome or Syllabus section.
- Proceed through the material in its displayed order.
- Mark lessons complete when prompted.
Some sections unlock only after the previous section has been completed. Do not skip ahead when the course asks you to follow a sequence. The exercises and explanations are designed to build upon one another.
The classes and semester spaces visible to you depend on your membership, access plans, and tuition enrollment.
7. Find Events and Live Activities
Open Events or expand the Live Events category to find upcoming campus gatherings.
An event listing may include:
- The date and time
- The event title
- A description
- The hosting campus space
- An RSVP or attendance control
- Instructions for joining when the event begins
Check the time zone displayed by your account and read the full event information before attending.
8. Know Where to Ask for Help
Academic Questions
Questions about a class, exercise, or YBNL principle should usually be posted in the related class or in a facilitator’s office.
Joining a facilitator’s office gives you a place to post questions directly to that teacher. Posting there may also help other students who have similar questions.
Navigation and Administrative Help
Use the Ombudsman space for nonacademic questions or concerns, including:
- Difficulty navigating the campus
- Questions about access or scholarships
- Administrative or financial concerns
- Behavioral or member-related concerns
- Uncertainty about where to post something
The Ombudsman is described on campus as the well of solutions for administrative, behavioral, or financial issues.
When uncertain, ask. You are not expected to understand every campus feature immediately.
9. Participate with Care
The campus is designed to support meaningful communication without advertising, spam, sales pressure, or unnecessary conflict.
Before posting, review the Code of Conduct. It applies to public posts, comments, private messages, classes, and live events.
In general:
- Post in the most appropriate space.
- Keep academic questions connected to the class or exercise.
- Respect privacy and personal boundaries.
- Do not use the campus for unsolicited advertising or sales.
- Ask the Ombudsman when you are uncertain.
Begin Your Training
The simplest way to begin is to create an account, complete Orientation, and take the free introductory class, Shift Your Inner Dialogue.
You may join as a free Visitor or become a Full Member for $25. Both options include free access to the first class.
